Soundguard Acoustics Ltd has been covering much of the South West this week. We completed an Approved Doc E Sound Test at a former police station in Bodmin, Cornwall that has been converted to 5 apartments. Soundguard Acoustics has been involved with the project since initial conceptual design, assisting the developers and architects on internal sound separation design, interim assessment and final Building Control verification for ADE Sound Insulation. We’re please to say that it achieved the Sound Testing regulations. We have also undertaken some BS4142:2014 sound impact assessments of generator noise levels and commercial noise impacts at sites in Lynham, near Swindon and North Tawton, Devon. Weather permitting we are also assessing a potential new festival site in Devon and determining existing background noise levels at the site so that we can discuss a reasonable and achievable noise condition with the project proposer, the environmental health officers and the local authority when setting their festival noise conditions and licensing. We have had a request for Control of Noise at Work regulation assessments at a site in Bideford, Devon as well as agreeing further noise risk assessment work with a farm machinery manufacturer in Cornwall to review their CONAWR assessments.
