Soundguard Acoustics Ltd was started in 2008 by former NHS Audiologist Rob Shaddick, MSc, MIOA. The company is based in Bideford, North Devon & provides acoustic consultancy services and sound testing across Devon, the South West and the UK.

Yes, Soundguard Acoustics Ltd holds full member status with the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC), we are full Members of the Institute of Acoustics (IoA) as well as being an accredited & registered ANC testing company for Building Control Approved Doc E sound insulation testing. We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) with appropriate professional indemnity insurance. All consultants are qualified to MSc level in acoustics.

Our acoustic consultancy services include Environmental Acoustics, Approved Doc E noise testing, building & architectural acoustics, soundproofing design, festival & event noise monitoring, noise control, noise impact assessment, workplace noise risk assessment & expert witness cases.

Soundguard Acoustics Ltd are based in North Devon but we offer acoustic consultancy services across the UK. Our local South West client base is mainly in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Avon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire & the counties of Monmouthshire, Glamorgan & Carmarthenshire in South Wales.

Rob Shaddick, MSc, MIOA is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics & holds an MSc in Applied Acoustics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics, & the IoA Certificates of Competence in both environmental noise assessment & workplace noise assessment. He is also a registered Approved Doc E sound insulation tester with the Association of Noise Consultants. Rob is a former NHS Senior Audiologist & has been both director & the lead consultant within the company since incorporation in 2008. He has driven a Tuk Tuk the length of India, he is a bad golfer, he has appeared on several TV game shows and he enjoys offroad classic car trials events, hiking, surfing & strong tea in a proper mug – no sugar thank you!
